Pavers Foundation donates to bereavement support services

The Pavers Foundation, charitable initiative of leading footwear retailer Pavers, York, recently donated £1,000 to St Leonard’s Hospice on behalf of a colleague at the company’s distribution centre. The grant application was made through the Foundation’s employee-led grant application scheme, which encourages all colleagues to apply for donations to good causes close to their hearts.

The donation will go towards maintaining St Leonards’ extensive bereavement support services, which have changed dramatically over the past two years in the face of the pandemic. The Hospice has made strides in extending and increasing the support available to patrons and their families, including the provision of child bereavement comfort boxes, and running family bereavement support sessions with trained counsellors, towards which this grant will contribute.

Stella Murrell, Grants & Trusts Fundraiser at the Hospice, thanked the Foundation for their support; “Our expert team provides much needed bereavement support to individuals and families dealing with grief. Demand for our services is increasing and it is thanks to the generosity of Foundations like Pavers that more people can access our free, tailored care. Their continued support is much appreciated.”
