Let their memory shine bright this Christmas

The kindness of people like you helped our patients be with the people they loved last Christmas. By remembering someone special through Light up a Life this year, you can help another family share one last Christmas together too.

This year, there are two special ways your loved ones will be remembered:

A star for someone special

This year your dedication can become part of your Christmas at home.

After donating, you’ll receive a special Light up a Life star through the post, personalised with your loved one’s name, to hang on your Christmas tree – one star for each special person you’ve named.

Remembered in our Book of Life

Your loved one’s name will be written lovingly in our Book of Life. This year, the Book of Life will be available to view in the Sanctuary at St Leonard’s Hospice from Friday 18 December and throughout 2027, so you can visit whenever feels right for you.

Light up a Life services

Our two services will include readings, festive music and time for shared reflection, offering a gentle space to remember the people we love and miss.

Everyone is welcome at our Light up a Life services. At each service, you’ll be given a star to add on to our special tree as we come together to remember those we love and miss.

Please note that the Book of Life will not be available to view at either the York or Selby services.
