Story

As a volunteer with the complementary therapies team at St Leonard’s Hospice, I have the privilege of facilitating regular sound bath sessions as part of the Sunflower Wellbeing Hub on Thursday mornings. I chose to volunteer at St Leonard’s because I believe deeply in the importance of compassionate, holistic care and the difference it can make to people’s lives. Volunteering at the hospice has been one of the most meaningful experiences of my life, and I am continually inspired by the kindness, courage and compassion shown by patients, families, staff and fellow volunteers. During my time at the hospice, I have met some truly remarkable people. I have listened to their stories, shared moments of laughter and reflection, and witnessed the resilience and humanity that can shine through even the most challenging of circumstances. It has been an honour to walk alongside individuals and their families during some of life’s most difficult moments. Hospice care is about so much more than end-of-life support. Through wellbeing services, complementary therapies, emotional support and compassionate care, St Leonard’s helps people to live as fully as possible while also supporting those who love and care for them. The hospice provides comfort, connection and dignity, creating spaces where people feel seen, heard and valued. These Sound Discovery workshops are dedicated to those I have had the privilege to meet through St Leonard’s Hospice and a celebration of those who continue to inspire us and a remembrance of those who are no longer with us. Through creativity, sound and connection, I hope to offer a space that reflects the same spirit of compassion, playfulness and community that St Leonard’s embodies every day. I warmly invite you to take part in memory of someone special, in honour of those who have touched your life, or simply to support the invaluable work of the hospice. Together, we can celebrate the importance of living well, cherishing connection and supporting one another through life’s journey. All money raised from these workshops will go directly to St Leonard’s Hospice, helping them continue to provide their exceptional care and support to patients and families when they need it most. Thank you for supporting this fundraiser. By taking part, you are helping St Leonard’s continue its vital work while honouring the lives and stories of so many extraordinary people.
