Appleton Roebuck Primary School's Reindeer Rush.

2022-12-09

On Friday 9th December, the children at Appleton Roebuck Primary School are taking part in a fun sponsored Reindeer Rush to raise funds for St Leonard's Hospice. St Leonard’s Hospice will provide all the children with reindeer antlers to wear on the run which they can keep to take home. Wearing their red reindeer antlers, the herd of reindeer's will complete sponsored laps around their playground being led by Santa. Of course, the part guaranteed to put a smile on the children’s faces is seeing their teacher running around wearing a Santa suit. Here at St Leonard’s Hospice, we know things are tough, so we aren’t setting a minimum amount of sponsorship; we want all children to be involved and have lots of fun. We just ask children to reach out to family and friends to sponsor as much as they are able to (each pack including the reindeer antlers costs the hospice £1 per child). Help us to ensure families can continue to receive the support they need at the most difficult of times, by every penny donated. Here at St Leonard’s Hospice, we can’t wait to see all the fun the children get up to, and are very appreciative of their incredible support!

Story

St Leonard’s Hospice provides palliative and end of life care for local people with life limiting illnesses. Our expert teams provide personalised care and support to patients and their families at our Hospice, at home and in the community. Our care is designed to help patients live their lives as normally as possible, whether that’s celebrating birthdays and anniversaries, arranging weddings or enjoying afternoon tea in the sunshine with family. Our bereavement support service also provides a much needed listening ear to local people dealing with grief. All funds Appleton Roebuck Primary School raise, are greatly appreciated and will help us to continue to provide our expert care and support: • £2 could buy tea bags to support family members with a much needed brew during difficult conversations • £25 could buy a memory box for a child who has lost a parent to gather a save special memories in • As a school, raising £100 could help patients stay pain free and supported
