A glittering Strictly St Leonard's final

Last weekend saw the Strictly St Leonards grand final at the Riley-Smith Hall in Tadcaster, where our 12 couples danced in front of their families and friends, competing to win the Glitterball trophy. Each couple had been tasked with raising £500, with some couples raising over 3 times that amount. The overall total raised hasn’t yet been confirmed, though it’s expected to be around £19,000.

Lee and Debs Bell, the owners of local business Jed Bell Butchers were crowned overall winners. Lee and Debs had relished the whole process, despite being one of the most nervous couples – making their own customised outfits and adding lifts into their routine. The most improved couple was Victoria Fieldhouse and Stephen Fenton from Woodthorpe Community Group. The biggest fundraisers were Lizzie Mackriell and Simon Pattison, who organised music fundraising events and bucket collections in the run-up to the night. Contestant Lydia Burley said the event was “honestly the best experience of 2023 so far”. Congratulations to all the contestants!

We’re now taking bookings for 2024 contestants, so if you know any Strictly fans who may be interested, please ask them to have a look at our Events page for details.
