A glittering Strictly St Leonard's raises over £15,000

In March 2024 nine couples who didn’t have much (or any) prior dance experience got together to perform three professional dance routines to an audience of 200 people.

Each of the couples individually fundraised to sell tickets for the big night, and in total raised an incredible £15,703.

We would like to say a massive thank you to all of our couples, and their supporters who came on the night:

Tom, Charlotte, Louise, Richard, Steph, Adam, Nick, Sue, Jim, Lucy, Claire, Matthew, Claire, Mark, Colette, Vic, Faith and Kath.

To our wonderfully talented dance teacher, Chris Robinson, who spent six weeks training our dancers in the Jive, Tango and Viennese Waltz.

To our fantastic judges, Chris Robinson, Gillian Robson and Stefani Lyons.

And to our wonderful host, Laura Castle from York Mix who did a great job in keeping the crowd entertained.

The funds raised help us to be here to help more people in and around York when they need us most. Whether that’s at the Hospice, in their home or through bereavement support, the money raised means that more people facing their toughest times can do so with dignity and respect.
