York music festival returns to raise money for St Leonard’s Hospice

York’s homegrown music festival is returning between Friday 19 and Saturday 27 September, raising money for St Leonard’s Hospice.

Live for St Leonard’s is a charity fundraising event, organised by York BID, as part of the York Food & Drink Festival, featuring nine days of live music entertainment from stages based in Parliament Street and St Sampson’s Square. All live music shows are free to attend, taking place every evening between 5 and 9pm.

We’re thrilled to once again be the beneficiary charity of this brilliant event, and our staff and volunteers will be on-site and ready to collect cash and card donations. Last year, Live For St Leonard’s was successful in raising over £5,000, and since it first launched in 2021 has generated a fundraising total of over £20,000 for St Leonard’s.

Keep an eye out for this year’s line up, which will be available via the York BID website: https://www.theyorkbid.com/live-for-st-leonards/

Chris Bush, Business Manager at the York BID, said: ‘‘York is home to an incredible pool of musical talent, and we are privileged to have such a fabulous lineup of artists supporting this year’s festival. This is a brilliant time to visit York’s city centre, enjoy the festivities and live entertainment, and support us in raising funds towards a worthwhile cause.”

We’re incredibly grateful to the York BID, YO1 Radio and all the musicians involved for their continued support. Every penny raised makes a difference for our patients and their families.
