Refund procedure

St Leonard’s Hospice Shops (Clothing and Household)

Any donated items that are sold faulty or not as described are eligible for a full refund. A receipt or other proof of purchase is necessary and where possible the tag should still be attached to the item. The item must be returned within 30 days.

Some donated goods can be returned in circumstances where the donor has changed their mind, or the item doesn’t fit. This part of the policy will apply to:

  • Bric-a-brac
  • Electrical items
  • Bedding and curtains
  • Donated ladies’ clothing, including shoes and accessories
  • Donation men’s clothing, including shoes and accessories
  • Donated children’s clothing, including shoes and accessories

Items not eligible for a refund (unless faulty or not as described) are as follows:

  • Books
  • CDs/DVDs
  • Toys, board games and jigsaws

To receive a refund for a change of mind, the customer must return the item within 7 days. They must return it with a till receipt, and the tag or price label still attached in the same condition it was sold. Shoes must have full labels on each shoe sole.

What if I have bought furniture that has been delivered and it doesn’t fit in my home?
To avoid disappointment, please measure before purchasing any item of furniture. Unless faulty, furniture can only be returned at the discretion of St Leonard’s Hospice. Where a product has been delivered and there is no fault, there will be no refund for delivery charges.

Excluding furniture and bought in goods, items can be returned to, and a refund issued from, any St Leonard’s Hospice shop, regardless of which St Leonard’s Hospice shop it was purchased from.
The return of furniture items must be arranged through the furniture shop where the item is purchased. Please contact the shop for more details.

Bought in goods
If you have bought the item in one of our shops: If your purchase is faulty, you can return the item to any of our stores within 30 days if you bring your receipt or proof of purchase.

If you have bought the item at our Hospice reception shop: If your purchase is faulty, you can return the item to the Hospice reception shop within 30 days if you bring your receipt or proof of purchase.

Please check all new goods purchases carefully. If you change your mind about one of our new products, it may only be returned if it remains unopened in the original packaging, with ticket attached and a receipt. Our new goods range is limited so we are not able to guarantee a different style or design will be available.
