York music festival returns, raising money for St Leonard’s Hospice
York’s homegrown music festival is returning between Friday 20 and Saturday 28 September, raising money for St Leonard’s Hospice.
Live for St Leonard’s is a charity fundraising event, organised by York BID, as part of the York Food & Drinks Festival, featuring nine days of live music entertainment from stages based in Parliament Street and St Sampson’s Square. All live music shows are free to attend, taking place every evening between 5 and 9pm.
We’re thrilled to once again be the beneficiary charity of this brilliant event, and our Staff and volunteers will be onsite and ready to collect cash and card donations. Last year, Live For St Leonard’s was successful in raising over £5,000, and since it first launched in 2021 has generated a fundraising total of nearly £14,000 for St Leonard’s.
This year’s line-up includes The Supermodels, Jess Gardham, Attention Freaks, Gary Stewart, Bang Bang Bang, The Echoes, Miles & The Chain Gang, In Pictures, Harry Arnison Band, Tri-Starrs, Paisley Flames, The Rusty Pegs, Embers, Accidently Acoustic and many more. The full line-up is available via the web link: https://www.theyorkbid.com/live-for-st-leonards/
Chris Bush, Business Manager at the York BID, said ‘‘York is home to an incredible pool of musical talent, and we are privileged to have such a fabulous lineup of artists supporting this year’s festival. This is a brilliant time to visit York’s city centre, enjoy the festivities and live entertainment, and support us in raising funds towards a worthwhile cause.’
We’re incredibly grateful to the York BID, York Mix, City Cruises and all the musicians involved for their continued support. Every penny raised makes a difference for our patients and their families.
