Moira Adams (neé Harkin) was born in Leeds, West Yorkshire in Richard and Kathleen Harkin. She was the seventh out of ten children. I’m not sure there’s enough space to do Moira’s biography justice on this page. She lived a hundred lives in her 68 years. From moving to Switzerland at 16, getting married for the first time at 19, starting a very successful sales career at 30, getting married for the second time and having two children and moving her family to Spain in her 40s, to co-running a pub and beating cancer twice in her 60s. Plus a list of 40+ addresses in her lifetime. Moira faced an unusual number of tragedies in her life, losing three of her siblings at a young age and her partner, Mel, in her 30s. However, she remained steadfast in her positivity and passion for life and always aimed to make the most of every day. She was a fiercely protective and loving Mum to Jack and Rosie, who were at the centre of everything she did. Jack’s wife, Mary-Kate, was also very quickly considered and loved as one of her own. She was a loving partner to Michael who she greatly admired. Their times together travelling to Portugal, Amsterdam, Bruges and Scarborough Casino were her favourite. Although she was just as happy on one of their regular pub trips around York sharing a crossword together. She loved having a good catch-up with her closest friends, Caroline, Paula and Fran - with wine usually involved somewhere along the way. A special mention to her niece Tara who Moira loved and appreciated very much.
