Complementary therapies.

As a Hospice, we are committed to enhancing the quality of life for people living with a life-limiting illness. One of the ways we do this is to offer free complementary therapies.

Complementary therapies, including massage, reflexology, Reiki, hypnotherapy and guided visualisations, are incredibly valuable for many reasons. Benefits may include:

  • Relief from emotional stress and anxiety
  • Improved sense of general wellbeing and relaxation
  • Improved mood
  • Breathing space to reconnect with yourself and rebalance
  • Reduced muscle aches and pains

Complementary therapies also offer a bit of time and space to just be you. It is time which is not about your illness, it is simply time for you. It is also an opportunity to do something you might have enjoyed in the past but find it difficult to do now, or that you have never tried and would like to.

Our complementary therapists also offer a listening ear in a safe, non-judgmental environment. It is entirely up to you whether you prefer to chat, or to simply rest quietly, enjoying a bit of peace and quiet. We will be guided by you.

All our complementary therapists have suitable professional qualifications, experience in private practice, are members of a recognised professional body and insured to carry out the therapies they offer.
