Supporting Pride Month.

Our vision is that everyone living with a life-limiting illness has access to the best possible care and will be supported to die well. Our aim is to develop accessible services based on the diverse and changing needs of our population.

This month we have activities planned to support members of the LGBTQ+ community living with a life-limiting illness talk about death and dying.

Many of us do not realise that we can plan ahead to make sure that our priorities and wishes are clear, and that those who matter most to us are listened to if we can’t speak for ourselves.

We also want to hear from you about what more we could be doing to make our services more accessible. You can let us know via the feedback form below.

What’s on during Pride Month?

  • York Pride stall at the Knavesmire: Saturday 1 June, 10am to 6.30pm. Come and speak to our wellbeing team for support and advice.
  • Introduction to Advanced Care Planning drop-in:  Thursday 6 June, from 1pm to 4pm at St Leonard’s Hospice Sunflower Centre. Drop in for support and information on planning ahead for your care, and why this is particularly important for LGBTQ+ people.
  • Hospice open afternoon: Wednesday 12 June, 1pm to 5pm at St Leonard’s Hospice Sunflower Centre. Drop in and meet the team for support, advice about advance care planning and other services, and a tour of the Hospice.
