Retail Administrative Volunteer

Our retail office based on York Road in Acomb is an exciting hub of activity where we provide support to our shops, process volunteer applications, and deal with enquiries from donors and the general public.

 

When am I needed?

At present we need two volunteers to cover Fridays and Saturdays. We typically ask for either a morning or afternoon commitment (our office hours are 8.30am to 4.30pm) however we can be flexible with timing.

 

What will I be doing?

  • Working alongside staff and other volunteers in the office on York Road in Acomb
  • General administrative tasks such as filing and photocopying
  • Answering the telephone and dealing with any enquiries
  • Assisting with the processing of volunteer applications
  • Booking in collections of donations

 

What skills and qualities will I need?

  • Basic computer skills including some knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Outlook and Excel
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and accuracy
  • Excellent telephone manner and ability to deal with enquiries from the general public

Support and Supervision

Retail office volunteers report to the Retail Manager/ Retail Coordinator who will provide you with full training and liaise closely with you over all aspects of your role.  The Retail Office staff will help with your induction and be your point of contact for general enquiries about volunteering.

Volunteers will be expected to attend any meetings or training where appropriate.
